Sports became such a strong point in his life when he took his fate into his own two hands to change his own world. According to usual standards, Volodymyr entered the world of sports rather late. When the coach first met the young man, he almost rejected him, saying that he should have thought about it beforehand. However, he couldn’t resist the drive and let him attend practice. In a month he began winning regional competitions. Then he became the champion of Ukraine, and winner of al Soviet Union competitions.
Today, he has not forgotten about his past boxing career. The instructor has to stand heavy punches from Prodyvus. Each week you can see Volodymyr at the premier fitness center in the capital. Having played with “iron” enough, flushed and lively, he drinks a glass of juice eager to return to business attire.
“When you meet with people twenty hours a day, sit in your office, in the plane or at the wheel of your car, - you can’t do without sport. You’ll become exhausted soon,” explains Volodymyr.
Sport and excitement go together well in the mind of Prodyvus. Even at the wheel of his car, he is not only a driver or passenger, but a sportsman as well. He drives his car rather quickly and delicately. He is fond of downhill skiing, as well as chess.
But Prodyvus wouldn’t be who he was if he created a sporting world exclusively for himself. New sports names appear and grow at his side. To put it honestly: future champions grow at the expense of Volodymyr Prodyvus.
“I am proud when the National Flag of Ukraine is hoisted in honor of our sportsmen and out National Anthem s played,” says Prodyvus. Few know that the businessman with a schedule that is blocked for every specific second of the day; is the president of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation. In other words, Prodyvus is the very person who organizes financing for domestic amateur boxing.
He is the person who takes this goal into his charge. In particular, he organized and sponsored a trip of young Olympians to Australia to prepare them for the Olympiad. There, they trained and won in friendly matches with foreign sportsmen of the same age. In Sydney, Australia young sportsmen were hosted by the world champion among professionals, legendary owner of thereof the most prestigious belts – World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) – Kostia Tszyu. Kostia and Volodymyr Prodyvus are warm friends. In 2007 they met in Ukraine. With an invitation by Prodyvus promotion league, “Stars of Professional Boxing of Ukraine,” Kostia Tszyu communicated with domestic sportsmen and boxing fans in Kiev and Lvov.
